About ATS Species Lens

ATS Species Lens turns the Global Biodiversity Information Facility into a single search box. Type any organism, pick it from a taxon-aware suggestion list, and its worldwide observation footprint resolves in seconds: a density surface covering the whole record corpus at every zoom level, the most recent georeferenced occurrences as clickable points, and a live read on how, when and where the species has been recorded. Every number, from the record count to the records-by-year chart and the basis-of-record breakdown, is queried at the moment you choose a species, so the map reflects the current state of GBIF rather than a stored snapshot.
