About ATS Power Atlas

ATS Power Atlas draws the world's electricity infrastructure on one map: 34,936 power plants from the WRI Global Power Plant Database, each colored by primary fuel and sized by installed capacity on a square-root scale, so the area of a dot tracks megawatts rather than exaggerating the giants. An energy-mix panel reports capacity or plant-count share by fuel, globally or for a single country, and a giants list flies to the largest plants in the database. The database is a snapshot rather than a live registry, which makes it a good picture of the shape of the global fleet and a poor source for this week's capacity.
